In short
- There are no accounts and we do not collect your schematics: the simulation runs in your browser and your experiments stay on your device.
- The site shows advertising. Personalised ads appear only if you give your consent; without consent you see non-personalised ads.
- We measure visits with a statistics tool that does not use cookies.
What stays on your device
LabDeck stores in your browser (IndexedDB and localStorage) the schematics you create, the last schematic opened, the position of the windows and instrument controls, and your choice of light or dark theme. This is technical data needed for the site to work; it does not leave your device and you can delete it from your browser settings.
Share links
A share link contains the experiment in the part of the address after the # sign. By the way the web works, this part is not sent to our server: it only reaches whoever receives the link and opens it. Whoever shares a link is responsible for what they put in it, for example the name of the schematic.
Browsing data (server logs)
Like every website, our server records the IP address, the date and time, the page requested and the type of browser. We use it for security and for the proper working of the service (legal basis: legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and we keep it for 14 days before deleting it.
Statistics
To understand how many people use the site and which pages they visit we use Umami, hosted on our own server. It records which pages are visited, the referring site, browser, device type and country, in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not follow you to other sites.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to show ads and measure their effectiveness. In the European Economic Area, before loading ads we ask for your consent through a certified consent management platform (IAB TCF standard): if you decline you will only see non-personalised ads; if you accept, also personalised ads. You can change your mind at any time from the “Privacy preferences” link at the bottom of every page. For details on how Google processes data: how Google uses data from partner sites.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability, by writing to info@digitaltaps.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it). You can withdraw your consent to ads at any time from the “Privacy preferences” link; withdrawal does not affect processing that has already taken place.
Children
LabDeck is meant for education too. We do not ask for or collect personal data of children: there are no accounts and no forms. Personalised ads require consent.
Changes
We will update this page if the tools we use change, and the date at the top will show it.
