Quick guide
The quickest way to start is to open the laboratory: you begin with an example that is already switched on (an RC filter with a generator and an oscilloscope). This page explains the main gestures.
1. Draw the schematic
- Pick a component from the toolbar and click on the sheet to place it. The shortcuts are shown on the icons: R resistor, C capacitor, L inductor, D diode, V voltage source, G ground.
- To connect, press W or drag from a pin: wires follow an orthogonal grid.
- Click a component to change its value in the “Properties” panel: it accepts suffixes such as
1k,100nF,10 mH. - Undo and redo with Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z; F fits the whole schematic in view.
2. Connect the instruments
- Open the “Instruments” panel and add a function generator or an oscilloscope. Each instrument lives in a window that you can move over the sheet and detach into a browser window of its own.
- The generator has a 50 Ω output and the oscilloscope input loads the circuit with 1 MΩ, as in real life: you can switch the loading off to see the difference.
- Place the oscilloscope probes on the nodes of the schematic.
3. Measure
- Press POWER on the oscilloscope and OUTPUT on the generator.
- Adjust TIME/DIV and VOLTS/DIV until the waveform fits the screen; use TRIGGER to hold it still.
- Turn a generator knob (frequency, amplitude, waveform) while you watch: the transient appears live.
4. Save and share
- Every change is saved automatically in your browser: there is no “Save” button.
- From the “Schematics” panel you can duplicate, export a
.vlab.jsonfile, import one, or copy a share link.
